Our predecessor, Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., was founded in 1917 as the shipbuilding division of Former Mitsui & Company.  For more than 100 years since then, we have been operating a wide array of businesses with a focus on the marine domain. In April 2023, we rebranded as MITSUI E&S as a business holding company, leaving behind our previous status as a pure holding company that we had held since 2018. We’ve taken a new move forward as the Mitsui E&S (MES) Group. E&S in our new trade name, MITSUI E&S, stands for “Engineering & Services for Evolution & Sustainability” and represents the significance of our existence (mission).  

MES Technoservice Malaysia Sdn Bhd was established in July 2017 at Klang, Selangor.
